From the Latin American Herald: "BOGOTA – Colombian state-controlled oil company Ecopetrol and Talisman Colombia Oil & Gas Ltd., a unit of Canada’s Talisman Energy Inc., announced an oil find Friday in the central province of Meta.
The crude discovery was the second the companies have made at the CPO-9 block, Ecopetrol said in a press release, noting that the latest drilling campaign there began on July 18.
The two companies said in a statement that they will analyze the results and, to that end, have asked Colombian authorities for permission to carry out extensive production tests at the Nueva Experanza-1 well, where the discovery was made.
Both companies have received approval for the drilling of two delimiting wells further down in the structure, the statement added.
Ecopetrol and Talisman made an earlier find at the CPO-9 block’s Akacias structure in 2010."
